Rebel Blaster


The Rebel Blaster was usually released with the following combinations of color to figure:

Blue-black Rebel Blaster:
– Han Solo
– Greedo
– Snaggletooth
– Luke Skywalker X-Wing Pilot

Blue Rebel Blaster:
– Han Solo (Hoth Outfit)
– Luke Skywalker (Bespin Fatigues)

Solid black Rebel Blaster:
– Han Solo (Trench Coat)

There is 4 main mold variations plus subvariants. More subvariants may exist. As a result of the fact that these were shot on a sprue tree in numbers of 4-10 each shot the subvariants may vary heavily depending on the steelmold used (see overview for detailed information).

M1a: COLOR COMPARISON

M1a was produced by SMILE in Hong Kong. The following colors are known:
– black-blue
– translucent black-blue

M1b: COLOR COMPARISON

M1b was produced by SMILE in Hong Kong. The following colors are known:
– translucent black-blue
– black-blue
– light silverish black-blue
– dark silverish black-blue
– translucent greenish blue
– blue

M2a: COLOR COMPARISON

M2a was produced by a yet unknwon factory. The following colors are known:
– black-blue
– translucent greenish blue (rough sculpt)
– blue (rough sculpt)

M2b: COLOR COMPARISON

M2b was produced by a yet unknwon factory. The following colors are known:
– black-blue
– translucent black-green
– greenish blue (rough sculpt)

M3a was produced by UNITOY in Hong Kong. The following colors are known:
– black-blue
– translucent greenish blue

M4a: COLOR COMPARISON

M4a was produced by KADER in Hong Kong. The molds were also used by LILI LEDY in Mexico (mainly M4d proven) and PBP in Spain. The following colors are known:
– black-blue
– greenish black-blue
– black-green
– blue

M4b: COLOR COMPARISON

M4b was produced by KADER in Hong Kong. The molds were also used by LILI LEDY in Mexico (mainly M4d proven) and PBP in Spain. The following colors are known:

M4c: COLOR COMPARISON

REISSUE “Classic Edition 4-Pack” 1995

The mold from this reissue by Kenner from 1995 is closest to the vintage M1 molds. Compared side by side it can’t be confused with a vintage one.

 

BOOTLEGS

Mexican bootleg. Came on a sprue together with Biker Pistol, Palace Blaster, hand-held lightsaber and Vibro Axe (picture will follow). Mold used in the 80s and 90s.
– red: color unique to the 80s
– white: color produced in 80s and 90s
– pink: only 90s
– green: only 90s

Polish bootleg. Mold used in the 80s and 90s. Came with Deluxe AT-AT Driver and also was added to 1st/2nd/3rd Gen Polish bootlegs (weapons sold separately).
